Alvin Dale “Ole Top” Horton, age 71 passed away Saturday July 14, 2012 at Western Hills Health Care Residence in Comanche, Texas. He was born on March 30, 1941 in Comanche County, Texas to Rev. Gloyd and Mae “Halbrook” Horton. Alvin worked on several Lake Projects: Lake Proctor Dam, Lake Livingston Dam, and the 8 Dam Locks on the Arkansas River. He was employed at Comanche Peak Nuclear Plant in Glen Rose, Texas for 20 years. He was a member of Taylor’s Chapel Methodist Church in Comanche County, Texas. He is survived by; Son Gary Don Horton of Fort Worth, Texas, Son Charles Lee and wife Paula Grace Horton of Comanche, Texas; Granddaughter Sara Rene Horton of Waco, Texas; Brothers: B. W. & wife Frances Horton of Fort Worth, Texas, Duane and wife Glenda Horton of Whitt, Texas, Ronnie and wife Judy Horton of Fort Worth, Texas; and numerous Nieces and Nephews. Alvin was preceded in death by his Parents, Gloyd and Mae “Halbrook” Horton, 1 Brother, J. L. Horton and 1 Sister, Gretchen Stanley. Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Ronnie Calcote officiating. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Comanche County.
