Levens, age 73, passed away on Friday, April 16, 2010, in Brownwood Regional Medical Center, Brownwood, Texas. B. J. was born on August 18, 1936, in Rawls, Texas, to Jack Levens and Blanche (Sherrod) Levens. On November 19, 1955, he was united in marriage to Corynne Benton in Flatwood Community, Eastland County, Texas. He worked in various areas of management for Piggly Wiggly, Thrift Mart, and Borden Milk Company. Prior to purchasing a convenience store in Comanche, Texas, he was employed by Golden Peanut Company in Comyn. After selling B.J.’s Convenience Store, he was employed as a sales clerk for Pates Hardware in Early, Texas. He was a member of Primitive Baptist Church in Comanche. B.J. was an avid golfer and was a member of Shady Creek Golf Course. He is survived by his wife, Corynne Levens of Comanche; daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Danny Hicks of Andrews; son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Linda Levens of Beattie; daughter and son-in-law, Shari and Tony Evans of Gustine; daughter and son-in-law, Kerri and Robert Montgomery of Hasse; son, Larry Levens of Comanche; grandchildren, Derek Hicks, Holly Hicks, Brandon Levens, Dusty and Karyan Evans, Michelle Montgomery, Cole Montgomery, and Shanda Bradshaw; great-grandchildren, Kassie Bradshaw and Nina Bradshaw; brother, and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Arlene Levens of Fort Worth, Sister, Becke Levens of Monroe, Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Levens, and two sisters, Wanda and Janet.
