VISITATION: Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home from 6:30 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. on Thursday, September 1. Benita Zarate, age 92, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016, in Comanche County, Texas. She was born on March 21, 1924, in Maverick, Texas to Moises and Leonor (Gutierrez) Rodriguez. On December 24, 1942, she was united in marriage to Eliazar Zarate in Crystal City. He preceded her in death. Benita was hardworking and faithful to her Lord, and she was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Comanche. She is survived by her daughter, Elida Chavarria of Comanche; son, Ernest Zarate of Gustine; son, Elizaio Zarate of Comanche; daughter, Leonor Bill of Comanche; daughter, Juanita Morales of San Juan, Texas; son, Ray Zarate of San Benito; daughter, Velma Sandoval of Comanche, son, Casey Zarate of Irving; daughter, Gloria Zarate of Comanche, daughter, Olga Ramirez of Comanche; son, Eliazar Zarate of Irving; son, Moses Zarate of Gustine; son, Mark Zarate of Gustine; son, David Zarate of Dublin; thirty-six grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Eliberto Zarate and daughter-in-law, Debbie Zarate.
