Bessie (Johnson) Moore, age 80, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2015, in Stephenville, Texas. She was born on September 26, 1935, in Fort Worth, Texas, to William Arthur and Helen Darling (McWhenney) Johnson. On September 2, 1953, she was united in marriage to Norman Gail Moore in Sidney, Texas, and moved to Sidney, after having grown up in Comanche. Norman preceded her in death on December 31, 2010. In 1950, she joined Sidney Baptist Church, where she played the piano for many years. For twenty-seven years Bessie was Postmaster at the Sidney Post Office. She was devoted to her family and was involved in many church and community activities. She is survived by her daughter, Roxann Moore and husband John Walker of Coaldale, Colorado; brother-in-law, Delbert Moore and wife Donna of Sidney; sisters-in-law, Dorene Waggoner of Comanche and Barbara Johnson of Waco; brother-in-law, Joe Lockhart of Killeen; and nieces, Laurie Parnell of Austin, Kelly Moore of Corsicana, Toi Bartone of Santa Clarita, California, Grace Groesbeck of Colleyville, and Lynn Hooker of San Angelo. She was preceded in death by one son, Norman Kevin Moore; parents, Arthur and Helen Johnson; sisters, Martha Camille Roark and Norma Belle Lockhart; brother, William Arthur Johnson, Jr.; and nephew, Michael Kyle Moore.
