LUNCH: Family will have lunch at First Baptist Church of Comanche following the funeral services. Bettie Faye Joseph Braziel Kilgore, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, in Stephenville, Texas. She was born in Riverside, California, on March 30, 1925, and was lovingly received by Thomas and Eliza Joseph. She married John Spurgeon Braziel on September 16, 1944. Following John’s military discharge in 1946, she moved to Comanche, Texas, where she made her home for her remaining years. John preceded her in death on October 19, 1993, after 49 years of marriage. She continued her life sharing her abundant love with Lonnie Kilgore. They were married on February 22, 1996. Bettie grew to know the Lord and Savior as a child, and continued to learn to know Him through a personal relationship and membership in First Baptist Church. As she leaves this world to be with our Lord in the home prepared for her, we remember how her life was devoted to caring for and nurturing others, from a childhood of babysitting, being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Though not involved with the business of Choice Baking Company, Bettie provided the home support that enabled the business to flourish for two decades. Following a period primarily committed to caring for family, Bettie served many as assistant to Dr. Roy Mims at Comanche Hospital, concluding her career in health professions at Western Hills Nursing Home. Often involved in many social groups, Bettie particularly enjoyed golf and tennis. She is survived by her husband, Lonnie Kilgore of Comanche; children, Cheryl Montoya and Al of San Antonio, Kevin Braziel and Connie of Magnolia, and Kim Bachus and James of Stephenville; grandchildren, Gitl Black and Jerome of Portland, Oregon, Marty Montoya of Austin, Yentl Weingrad and Jeffrey of Burmingham, Alabama, John Braziel and Addie of Spring, Kayla Rollins and Matt of Houston, and Ross Bachus of Stephenville; and great-grandchildren, Faith Black, Lila Marie Black, and Daniel Black. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Eliza Joseph; and sisters, Lillian Joseph, May Sheridan, and Jean Parker.
