MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 3, 2017, at East Side Baptist Church in Comanche. Maxcine Nance, age 87, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born on June 21, 1929, in Coahoma, Texas, to William Andrew and Mattie Mae (Logan) Mays. On August 4, 1946, she was united in marriage to Norris E. Nance in Big spring, Texas. He preceded her in death on November 1, 2008. For fifty years Maxcine worked as a church secretary, working in Big Spring, Rio Hondo, and finally Comanche. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and in her “spare” time she enjoyed playing dominoes and cards. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Pate of Grand Prairie; granddaughter, Lori Longoria of Overland Park, Kansas; brothers, Laual Mays and wife June of Flower Mound, and Cortez Mays and wife Ernestine of Amarillo; Sister-in-law, Lee Moore of Denton; Brothers-in-law, Richard Nance of Arlington, T.L. Kennedy and wife Jean of Belton, and Charles Nance and wife Julia of Denton; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, J.W. Mays and Wayne Mays; and one sister, Kay Mays.
