Billie Jean Reed, age 83, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2016, in Abilene, Texas. She was born on February 19, 1933, in Comanche County, Texas, to J. J. and Lillie Mae (Creek) Hicks. On June 20, 1953, she was united in marriage to Grady Reed in Comanche. Billie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker and a talented artist. She kept her family and many friends entertained with her wonderful sense of humor and will be missed by all. She was a member of Sidney Baptist Church. Billie is survived by her husband, Grady Reed of Comanche; daughter, Sherry Ward and friend Merrill McRimmon of Comanche; sons, Randy Reed and wife Debra of Comanche, Dan Reed of New Braunfuls, and Rex Reed and wife Tammi of Sidney; daughter, Rita Griffin and husband James of Early; eleven grandchildren – Jason Ward, Josh Ward, Koda Reed, Trey Ross, Bo Ross, Dacia Griffin, Travis Griffin, Sheena Rimato, Daniel Griffin, Michelle Overson, and Teresa Overson; six great-grandchildren: brother, Raymon Hicks and wife Becky of Newburg; and sisters, Joyce Ward and husband Don of Sidney and Mary Hall of Sidney.
