GRAVESIDE SERVICES: 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Oakwood Cemetery. BURIAL: Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche County. VISITATION: 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday. LUNCH: Family will have lunch at First United Methodist Church following the service. Billy Gene Scroggins, age 58, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2013 in Comanche, Texas. He was born on November 23, 1955 in Hammond, Indiana, to James Scroggins and Carol (Riley) Scroggins. On December 31, 2012, he was united in marriage to Annie C. Jones in Burleson, Texas. Billy served in the U.S. military from 1972-1993. He served from 1993-2003 with the U.S. Department of Corrections. Billy obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Child Psychology from the University of Indiana. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Comanche. Billy was a Master Mason with the Hope Masonic Lodge #481. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite. He was a Shriner and succeeded to the highest level by obtaining his Knight’s Temple. He is survived by his wife, Annie Scroggins of Comanche, Texas; four sons, Jansing Scroggins of Blooming Grove, Texas; Raine McLellan and wife, Heather of Lafayette, Colorado; Gary Funderburg-Atherton and wife, Ana of Augusta, Kansas; Cary Funderburg-Atherton and wife, Charlotte of Wichita, Kansas; two daughters, Zeneta Roe and husband, William of Blooming Grove, Texas; Autumn Davis and husband, Ken of Blanket, Texas, 23 grandchldren; brother, Jim Scroggins of Anderson, Indiana; two sisters, Tena Hill and husband, Alan of Wamago, Kansas and Barbara Clark and husband, George of Orlando, Florida; four gorgeous God-daughters, Hailley, Cassandra, Kandace and Alyssa; best friends, Fred and Jill Basttardo; father, James Scroggins and wife, Paula of Kissimmee, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Ray Scroggins.
