Brenda Kay Martin

On March 11th, Heaven gained Brenda Kay Martin. She was born to Roy & Essie May Shugart on November 13, 1949. She grew up in Gorman, Texas where she graduated from Gorman High School. She married Roger L. Martin on August 22, 1970, and they were married for 53 years.

She is survived by her husband, Roger L. Martin. She is also survived by her brother Jerry Shugart (wife Sylvia Shugart), and three daughters, Julia Martin Pate (husband Jammy Pate), Catherine Martin Cox (husband Jeremy Cox), and Dana Martin Millet (husband JW Millet). Brenda was blessed with six grandchildren, Jaret Pate, Jaton Pate, Eli Cox, Finn Cox, Braylee Millet and John Millet.

She held a few jobs throughout her life but being a homemaker was one of her greatest attributes. She made a fantastic "turkey and dressing" and always enjoyed baking and cooking for family and friends. She loved supporting her children and grandchildren in all their sporting activities. She was a member of the Full Gospel Church for several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy & Essie Mae Shugart, and her brothers, Delmer Shugart and Bobby Shugart.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Comanche Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Comanche Funeral Home with burial services to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. A lunch will be held at 12:00 PM at Full Gospel Church at 700 E Oak Ave, Comanche, Tx 76442.
