Carlos Vasquez

Carlos Ramon Vasquez, age 44, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020, in Knox County, Texas.

He was born on December 17, 1975, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Timothy Patrick and Brenda (Chappell) Vasquez. He loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them. Carlos was a man with many interests. He loved music, football, boxing, and wrestling, and was an avid Florida Gators fan. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and bonfires. He never met a stranger and always took time to give encouragement to others. Carlos was never happier than when showing off his considerable cooking skills.

He is survived by his mother and “Papi”, Brenda and Cris Gomez of Proctor; sisters, Adrianne Simmons of Tampa, Florida and Angela Vasquez of Kansas City Missouri; grandparents, Cecil and Connie Chappell of Proctor; nephew, William Dunbar, III of Tampa; uncles: Cecil Chappell, Jr. and family of Cherryville, Kansas, Paul Gonzalez and family of Kansas City, Kansas, Abad Gonzalez and family of Kansas City, Kansas, Joe Colwell of Kansas City Missouri, and Daniel Vasquez and family of Harrisonville, Missouri; aunts, Gina Colwell and family of Kansas City, Missouri, Shareen Vasquez of Houston and Michaelin Vasquez and family of Kansas; and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Timothy P. Vasquez; grandparents, Shirley and David Colwell, and Michael and Grace Vasquez; and sister, Sarah Vasquez.
