It is with great sadness that the family of Carolyn Elva Wright Luckie makes known that she passed away July 6, 2023 after a very long, courageous battle with cancer. Carolyn was born March 14, 1949, in Comanche, Texas to Elbert George Wright and Herman Mae Johnson Wright. She moved to Crane, Texas where she grew up and graduated in the Class of 1967.
Carolyn married Michael Eugene Luckie on December 27, 1969, in Comanche, Texas. She is survived by her husband, Mike, of 53 years. Daughter, Leighanna Thetford ( Shane) of San Angelo, Texas. Daughter, Kimberly Geijsel (Arjen) of Stephenville, Texas. Son, Brian Luckie of Hasse, Texas & Baby Jason, the favorite, Luckie (Jeanette) of Gustine, Texas.
Nineteen Grandchildren who called her Crazy Memaw; Taylor & Liz Thetford, Whitney Thetford, Kaitlyn Luckie & Mitchell Johnson, Morgan Luckie, Maeleigh, Gracelyn, Julianna & Hutton Geijsel, Makayla Luckie, Jaron Hohertz and Hope, Jaycee Hohertz and Chance, Eathen Hohertz, Miranda Boatman, Cassidy Howell & Joe Gilligan. Six Great grandchildren;Harrison & Quinn Thetford, Bronson & Lorali Garcia, Axel Johnson & Miles Boatman. Special friends and family to include dearly loved cousin Mary Alice and husband Kim Organ, Donna and Cecil Weathermon, Mike Mize, Jim and Shirley Switzer, and Cristal Gilligan. There are many others she held dear to her heart, as well.
Carolyn throughout her life was a homemaker and worked on their family dairy farm. After sixteen years, she retired from Western Hills from being a CNA, as well as a personal caregiver, where she shared her gift to never miss a chance to brighten someone’s day.
Anyone who knew Carolyn appreciated her crocheted gifts, old-fashioned meals and her profound knowledge of the most unique subjects,especially her extensive knowledge of family history and genealogy.
Carolyn is preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Harold Wright & Norman Elbert Wright. Her parents Elbert George & Herman Mae Wright. She is survived by one sister, Mary Wright Doan of San Angelo, Texas.
