Cecil Irvin Chancellor, age 94 passed away Saturday July 14, 2012 at Western Hills Health Care Residence in Comanche, Texas where he had been a resident since May 1, 2006. He was born on May 1, 1918 in Mullin, Texas to Thomas Wade and Ollie Davis Chancellor. He was united in marriage with Annie Lee Young on March 25, 1939. She preceded him in death on August 15, 1996. He joined the Civilian Conservation Corps and worked on numerous sites in Texas and one in Oregon. He was a paint supervisor for 20 years for Phillips Petroleum in Odessa, Texas and received the Frank Phillips Club Award for 20 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Comanche, Texas. He is survived by daughters: Margaret and husband Ronald Copeland of La Porte, Texas and Mildred and husband Samuel James of Santa Fe, Texas; sister Thelma Fay Ward; 13 Grandchildren, 22 Great-Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Father, Thomas Wade Chancellor in 1958, Mother, Ollie Davis in 1969, Daughter, Betty Louse Payne in 1985, Grandson, Edward (Bubba) Payne in 2004, Great-Grandson, Stac Horton in 2007 and Son, Jesse Lee Chancellor in 2011. Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, July 16, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Van Christian officiating. Burial at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Comanche County. Comanche Funeral Home in Charge of Arrangements. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 804 W. Wright, Comanche, Texas 76442.
