Daniel James Helm was born in Comanche, January 29, 1966. He passed from this life to Heaven April 17, 2025.
He attended school at Comanche and was active in Vocational Agriculture and the Band, playing a tuba. He then attended school at Texas State Technical in Waco graduating with an Automotive Technology Associate Degree.
Dan was a hard worker, assisting with the family farming operation in his early years. He thoroughly enjoyed growing top quality hay.
He operated an auto repair shop for 35 years until failing health forced him to semi-retire. He had achieved many ASE Master certifications for automotive technology.
Dan served as an editor, writer, and proofreader for "Busted Knuckle" Rod and Truck magazine which provided him the opportunity to attend many car shows in Texas. His last one was in Keller the weekend before he passed away.
Dan was a faithful member of First United Methodist through his childhood and then joined Taylor's Chapel Congregational Methodist Church.
He is survived by his soulmate Tina Grelle; children, Miranda Helm and Alan Helm; parents, H.R. and Carol Helm of Comanche; siblings, Joe Helm and Cindy, Donna Kinsey and Mack; uncle, Tim Helm and Carolyn; aunts, Nancy Helm, Mary Urban and Dick, and Kathy Young. Also many cousins and friends survive him.
