Doris Mazurek

On February 13, 2024 at 2:00pm, heaven gained Doris LaNelle Mazurek. She was born to Geneva and Cliff Milam on May 17, 1940. She lived most of her younger life in Early, Texas where she grew up and graduated from Early High School. She married Walter (Tooter) Mazurek on June 7, 1958. They were married for 52 years. They had two daughters, Linda Mazurek McMillan and her husband George and Laurie Mazurek Williams, and her husband Lynn.

Doris was blessed with two grandchildren, Kelci Dowell and husband Trae, Kobi Works and wife Tiffany, two step-grandsons, Craig McMillan and wife Casey, and TJ McMillan. She had five great-grandchildren that were her pride and joy- Braxton Works, Landon Dowell, Levi Works, Layton Dowell, Arena Works, and three step great-granddaughters - Ellie McMillan, Emily McMillan, and Evie McMillan. Twin step-great-great grandsons- Malachite and Onyx. She was also blessed with Bonus grandchildren- Wade and Kate Williams, Tim Williams, and Lindsey, Corbin, and Rylee Urbanek.

Doris was involved in many community activities throughout her life. She was proud to serve as president of the American Cancer Society for several years. She also was a 29-year breast cancer survivor. She held many jobs throughout her life but being a homemaker was one of her greatest attributes. She was a fantastic cook and always enjoyed baking and cooking for family and friends. Watching her children and grandchildren in all their sporting activities and school functions was one of her passions. She was a member of First Baptist Church for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cliff and Geneva Milam, her brother, C B Milam, and her husband, Walter Mazurek.
