Dorthy Bloyd

Dorthy June Bloyd, age 96, passed away August 15, 2024 in Comanche, TX.

Dorthy was born February 27, 1928 in Erath County to Charles L. Bradley and Gladys Idoma Clary. Dorthy graduated from Dublin High School. She married Jesse Roydell Bloyd on December 19, 1946. She was a homemaker and was very accomplished in her arts and was excellent as a seamstress. She won many painting and art awards at local shows. She was a dedicated Christian and a member of the Pearl Street Church of Christ. She loved nothing more than taking care of her family.

Dorthy is survived by son, Cris and wife Melinda Bloyd; daughter, Janda and husband Bill Taylor; grandchildren, Angelyn Bloyd, Samantha and husband Joshua Knowles, Steve and wife Tracy Taylor, Tracey and husband Randal Kern; great grandchildren, Scotlyn Ogle, Brittyn Ogle, Cris Taylor, Zack and wife Becca Taylor, Dacie Taylor, Lance Taylor, Jonathan and wife Hailey Kern, Shelby Kern, Jeremy Kern; and sister Jewell Dean Hurbert.

She is preceded in death by husband, Jesse Roydell Bloyd; her parents, Charles L. Bradley and Gladys Idoma Clary; brothers, Billy Gene Bradley and Bobby Bradley; and great grandson, Peyton Kern.
