Douglas Johnston

Doug passed away on June 21, 2023, surrounded by family. He fought a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Doug was born on September 25, 1954, in San Antonio to Adolph Johnston and Elnor Waxler. He was a graduate of Comanche High School in 1972. Throughout his life, he was an auctioneer, Snap-On tool dealer, and lifelong rancher.

Doug was an active volunteer in the Ben Rickey Boys Ranch, Callahan County Livestock Association, Ducks Unlimited, and many benefit auctions.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Joyce Perkins.

He was united in holy matrimony to Karen Denny of Comanche on December 24, 1988, in Comanche.
Doug is survived by his wife, Karen Johnston of Clyde; son, Cody Johnston of Comanche; daughter, Katelyn Alesch and husband, Jim, of Iowa; stepson, Randall George of Clyde; brother, James Patrick and wife, Barbara Johnston, of Nemo; brother-in-law, Charley Denny of Clyde; grandchildren, Caleb, Hope, Tyler, Maci, Trinity; great-grandchild, Josiah; and many cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Ben Richey Boys Ranch and Family Program P.O Box 6839 Abilene, Texas 79608.
