GRAVESIDE SERVICE:  1:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Brown County. VISITATION:  Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Monday, April 16, 2018, from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. LUNCH:  Lunch for the family will be at the home of Bobby and Cindy Newman.
Doyle Newman, age 85, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018, in Early, Texas He was born on January 30, 1933, in Snyder, Texas, to Thomas and Bessie (Sawyer) Newman.  Doyle proudly served in the United States Army and served in the Korean War.  On August 3, 1953, he was united in marriage to Willa Jean Withers in Snyder, Texas.  She preceded him in death on January 16, 1996.   He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who worked hard to provide for his family.  For over thirty-five years he worked in the oil fields of West Texas and owned and operated Service Technician Company in Odessa.  After retiring from the oil fields in 1995, he moved to Brown County where he farmed and ranched and, for eight years, worked for the Texas Youth Commission.  Doyle was a lifetime member of the NRA.  He was a Baptist.   He is survived by his daughter, Kay Newman of Comanche; son Bobby Newman and wife Cindy of Comanche; granddaughter, Christy Harris of Comanche; grandson, Chad Newman of Comanche; great-grandchildren, Taylor Harris of Comanche; great-granddaughter, Kylee Harris of Comanche; brother, Garland Newman and wife Barbara of Early; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Bessie Newman; and two brothers, Tommy Newman and Bill Newman.
