Maebell Clawson, age 94, died on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, in Comanche, Texas. She was born on May 4, 1916, in Mills County, Texas, to James Kirk and Mary (Pyburn) Green. On February 28, 1933, she was united in marriage to Harvey L. Clawson in Colorado City, Texas. For many years Maebell worked at the cookie plant in Comanche, until it closed. She then went to work for Wrights Leather Goods until it also closed. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a homemaker and she was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by two daughters, Dawn Stovall of Aztec, New Mexico, and Sandra Trefger and husband Eddie of Weatherford; two sons, Danney Clawson and wife, Paulette of Aledo, and Jack Clawson of Comanche; twenty-six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Bertha Tyler and husband Ray of Honey Grove; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Donald Clawson, two daughters, Yvonne Hale and Barbara Steele, and one great- great-granddaughter, Baylee Passmore.
