GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 27, 2011, at Rock Church Cemetery, Brown County, near Blanket. VISITATION: Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Saturday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Edward Lee Pfingsten, age 81, died on Thursday, February 24, 2011, in Abilene, Texas. He was born on October 13, 1929, in El Paso, Texas, to Charles and Lucille (Miles) Pfingsten. He graduated from Tularosa High School in 1947. On October 3, 1952, Ed was united in marriage to Margaret Hobbs, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He retired from the United States Air Force after twenty years of service. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Edward and Margaret farmed and ranched in Brown and Comanche Counties for over forty years. He was the County Surveyor for Comanche County for over twenty years. He was a Registered Public Surveyor for many years, founded Pfingsten Surveyors, and later sold real estate for Arrowhead Land Co. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Pfingsten of Blanket; children, Cynthia Robey of Temple, Donna and David Brooks of Early, Roy and Cheryl Pfingsten of Blanket, Nelda Pfingsten of Simi Valley, California, Joyce and Wayne McGlothlin of Temple, Mozelle and Nelson Sattler of Comanche, Rob and Keeda Pfingsten of Salado. Jimmy and Dee Robison of De Leon; twenty grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sister and brother-in-law, Clara and Dee Simpson of La Luz, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Audra Lea Chasteen.
