FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:30 A.M. Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel. BURIAL: Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Comanche County. VISITATION: Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. LUNCH: Lunch for the family will be at the First United Methodist Church following the funeral services. MEMORIALS: in lieu of flowers family requests memorials be made to Alpha Omega Hospice, P.O. Box 162041, Fort Worth, Texas 76161; or Comanche Public Library, P.O. Box 777, Comanche, Texas 76442. Ernest Julius Ebell, Sr., age 94, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2012, in Comanche, Texas. He was born on July 25, 1917, in Knippa, Texas, to Ernest H. and Matilda (Helbig) Ebell. On January 11, 1938, he was united in marriage to Alice Annette Brown in San Antonio. She preceded him in death in 1999. He was a World War II veteran and served in the United States Navy. Ernest was the production manager for Choice Baking Company in Comanche until it closed in 1973. He continued working at Arthur Chevrolet until he retired in the early nineteen eighties. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Comanche Lions Club, and served on the Comanche City Council and the Comanche Public Library Board. He is survived by two sons, Ernest J. Ebell, Jr. and his wife, Louise, of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Gerald L. Ebell of Manassas, Virginia; one daughter, Julie Ann Davis and her husband, Gary, of Arlington, Texas; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sisters, Hilda Fore and Esther Mathis, infant sister, Emma Ebell; and daughter-in-law, Martha Ebell.
