Evangeline “Vangie” Marie Owens, age 74, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2016, in Bedford, Texas. She was born on April 11, 1942, in Gorman, Texas, to W. Vie and Vinnie Modell (Lovell) Hurst. On August 5, 1961, she was united in marriage to Herbert Owens in Abilene. For many years Vangie worked for Lockheed Martin and General Dynamics building wiring harnesses for F16 Fighter Jets. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and she was a homemaker. Vangie was a Baptist She is survived by her husband, Herbert Owens of Hurst; daughter, Tracy Smith of Hurst; stepdaughter Charlotte Turpak and husband Thomas of Austin; stepson Dolan Williams of Waco; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Harrel Hurst and wife Nelda of Gustine; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Donald Rightner, and four brothers.
