FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:00 A.M. Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church in Priddy, Texas. BURIAL: St. John's Cemetery in Priddy. VISITATION: Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 20, from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. LUNCH: Lunch for the family will be at Zion Lutheran Church following the funeral services. MEMORIALS: Zion Lutheran Church, Drawer B, Priddy, Texas 76870 Evelyn Hilda Riewe, age 85, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017, in Comanche County, Texas. She was born on July 12, 1932, in Priddy, to Albert and Emma (Krueger) Stegemoller. On August 25, 1956, she was united in marriage to Phil Riewe in Shive, Texas. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2009. She was a homemaker. Evelyn was devoted to her husband and family and spent her life helping others. Evelyn was a talented seamstress, quilter, gardener and cook. Not only did she partner with Phil to raise six kids of their own, but many orphaned lambs and kid goats as well. She also fed more than her fair share of hummingbirds each summer. She was an Adult Volunteer Leader for the Newburg 4-H Clubs for over twenty-five years and was a firm supporter of the Comanche County Junior Livestock Show. She spent many hours in the bleachers supporting Comanche Maiden Basketball. She was well known for her famous “La Rita” cookies; always keeping a stash on hand. Evelyn was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She is survived by her son, Donnie Riewe and Tonna of Comanche; daughters, Della Hicks and husband James of Comanche, Carla Davis and husband Greg of Madison, Kansas, and Shelia Head and husband Jesse of Comanche; grandchildren, Dusty Hicks, Tyler Hicks, Tanner Hicks Tanner Riewe, Reed Riewe, Sam Davis, Kayla Routh, Rachel Riewe, Cindy Riewe, Halee Head, Savannah Head, and Emma Head. She was preceded in death by daughter, Phyllis Wells and son, Darrell Riewe.
