Florence Mayer

A MEMORIAL SERVICE HAS NOT BEEN SCHEDULED AT THIS TIME Florence “Flo” S. Mayer, age 81, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016, at Comanche County Medical Center. She was born on January 3, 1935, in Brackenridge, Pennsylvania, the youngest daughter of W.G. and Florence Schmitz. Flo spent most of her youth in Phoenix, Arizona. On September 7, 1953, she married Boyce H. “BH” Mayer in Phoenix. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2006. She enjoyed working in retail and especially teaching cake decorating and candy making classes. Flo was known for her beautiful cakes and candies as well as her delicious meals. She enjoyed reading, photography and her home in Comanche. She is survived by her two children, Teresa Ann Smith of Houston and James E. Mayer and wife Leslie of Idaho Falls, Idaho; four grandchildren; sister, Shirley Schmitz, and brother, Bernard Schmitz. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald Schmitz, Eugene Schmitz, and Robert Schmitz.
