Florentino Suniga “J.r.” passed away on Saturday, December 2nd, 2023 in Temple, Texas.
He was born on December 6th, 1980 in Brownwood, Texas to Florentino Suniga Sr. & Olga (Gutierrez) Suniga. He was united in marriage to Christy Suniga on January 22nd, 2000.
J.r. was a loving father, husband, son, brother, uncle, & friend. He loved his family more than anything. He always made sure to let them know how special they were to him up until the Lord called him home. He loved his wife whom he's shared many beautiful memories with. He was a caring son, who loved his parents unconditionally & always made sure they knew how much they meant to him. He was the best big brother & was always his siblings protector whenever needed. He was a protective father who loved his daughters & loved to watch them make him proud. He knew how to make just about anyone laugh. If you knew J.r. you knew he could always put a smile on your face due to his “goofy” personality as his daughters would call him. He was always cracking jokes or even playing pranks just for the fun of it because he always loved to live life in humor. Lets not forget he would give just about anyone a nickname that is more than likely stuck with them for the rest of their life whether they liked it or not. He was a long time employee of Orkin Pest Control & has been in the pest control business for more than 16 years. He was a long time member of the Church of Christ. He loved to listen to his grandfather “Popo” preach the word of God. In his spare time, he loved to cook, sing, fish, golf, & gamble. He loved to sing just about anything, but his favorite artist was George Strait. In his final days, his family would catch him on his phone in the hospital trying to win some big bucks on his “slots.” He definitely got into the slot machine games from his dad.
He is survived by his wife, Christy Suniga of Comanche; daughters, Sky Suniga, & partner Zain Rodriguez, Cici Suniga & partner Jayson Kinnard, Harley Suniga, & Noni Suniga of Comanche; parents Florentino Suniga Sr. & Olga Suniga of Gatesville; brothers Michael Suniga & wife Dannyelle of Gatesville, & Brandon Suniga & wife Samantha of Gatesville; grandmother Imbersaida Suniga "Momo"; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends whom he loved deeply.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Martin Suniga, grandparents Felix Gutierrez Sr. & Amelia Gutierrez, uncle Bobby Suniga, & cousin Ramon “Ray” Gutierrez Jr.
He will be dearly missed & loved by many.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be made to either the Comanche County Healthcare Foundation or the First Methodist Church of Comanche.
