On the 30th of May 2023, we lost an unparalleled cowboy by the name of Frank Aaron Rogers. At 55, Aaron went out doing what he loved, rope in one hand, reins in the other, dragging calves with friends and family.
Aaron was born July 10, 1967, in Comanche, Texas to Ira Frank Rogers and Lavonna Nisbett Rogers. He grew up farming on a dairy in Sidney with his parents and nine siblings. Being the youngest, Aaron learned many life lessons from his brothers and sisters. He was a fix anything, help anyone, give you the shirt off his back kind of man. No matter the job, event, or competition, you knew you were going to get 110%. He was an incredible father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. His love for animals was unmatched, whether they were wild or tamed, he had a rare divine gift with them. Aaron broke horses, caught fish, killed deer, and if he was throwing his rope, he didn't miss. He had honor with anything he did and expected the same from others. Most of all Aaron was a cowboy through and through and led by example on how to be a cowboy. Many looked up to him in his many talents and the way he lived, showed us all how to both be a cowboy and a Godly man and not by his words but by his actions.
He is survived by his son, Zane Aaron Rogers; daughter, Laura Leighann Taylor (James); grandchildren, Jensen Wayne & Jarrett Aubrey; brothers, Dean Rogers (Sheila), Norman Rogers (Catrina); sisters, Iralonna Shaver (Buzz), Retha Strickland (Dana), Linda Hanus (Mark); numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family.
Aaron was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Ira Rogers and Lavonna Nisbett Rogers; brother, David Rogers; sisters, Lafran Rogers, Brenda Brown, and Bonnie McMlellan.
