VISITATION: Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Friday evening from 5:30 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. LUNCH: Saturday at House of Prayer on North Austin Avenue following the funeral services. Frank Vargas, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at Providence Healthcare Network in Waco, Texas. He was born on April 16, 1942, in Steelstore, Texas, to Patricio Vargas and Nolberta (Ugalde) Vargas. Frank retired from the United States Army, where he served as a Medic and Paratrooper. He was a POW in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Dionisia “Denise” and Venancio Sanchez, Jr. of Comanche; son, Albert Rodriguez of Comanche; sister, Felicitas Martinez of Dallas; five grandchildren; former wife, Alberta Judy Rodriguez of Comanche; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Mario Vargas, and two brothers, Ramon Vargas and Patricio Vargas.
