Frankie Mcdaniel

November 23, 1933 — June 17, 2024

Frankie Darrell McDaniel, age 90, passed away on Monday June 17, 2024, in Rising Star, Texas. He was born in Comanche, Texas on November 23, 1933 to Roy McDaniel and Lola Price.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Cold War years and was stationed in Berlin, Germany, where he would meet his future wife Kathleen. On December 09, 1957, he married Kathleen in Sweetwater, Texas. Frankie was a farmer/rancher with a old time work ethic for most of his life, mainly dealing in peanuts and cattle. He was a hard worker who believed in starting early in the morning and there always had something to do on the farm. He was a man with many hobbies that loved to travel, go camping, dancing with his loving wife, playing dominos, bicycling, dove hunting and music from Elvis Presley.

He liked to watch the Texas Rangers at the old stadium. A special memory of Frankie was in 1974, when a brand new promising pitcher out of high school named David Clyde was drafted to the Texas Rangers. Frankie got to watch David's pitching debut during his first few professional games in the major leagues.

Frankie is survived by his son, Philip McDaniel; grandson, Nathan McDaniel & wife Hannah McDaniel of Sidney, Tx; great grandchildren, Jeremiah & Elam McDaniel; grandson, Lee McDaniel; great grandchildren, Ember & Zoey McDaniel; various nieces, nephews & cousins.

He is preceeded in death by his parents Roy & Lola McDaniel; son, Mathew McDaniel; brother, Charles McDaniel; sister, Jo Ann (McDaniel) Chamberlain; & various family.

The family would like to give thanks to the Rising Star Nursing Home & Solaris Hospice Care for all the hard work and dedication over the past few months.
