Fred Stanley Davis was born to M.F. (Buck) Davis and Tina Lee Stokes Davis just as the clock turned to April 1, 1930, in Sipe Springs, Texas. He passed away in Comanche Medical Center on March 17, 2018, after a short stay in the Brownwood hospital. The family moved several times after Fred’s birth, first to Ft. Worth, where the young boy attended the first grade. Fred attended Rising Star School from the time he was in the second grade through his eighth grade year. After spending his ninth grade year in Abilene, Fred and his family moved to Comyn, Texas, where he became a star athlete his last three years of school. Fred married Betty June Fuller on July 21, 1951, and the couple had four children: Fredda Lee, Stephen Franklin, David Glenn, and Scott Fuller. He was a rancher. Betty preceded him in death on December 29, 2017; son, Steve, in 1997; and granddaughter Mandy in 1980.
