Gary Wilkerson

Gary Oran Wilkerson, beloved husband, son, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2024, at the age of 72. Born on October 9, 1951, in Hamlin, Texas, Gary was the cherished son of Elba Jean (Bennett) Wilkerson and GW "Dude" Wilkerson.

Gary spent his formative years in the heart of Borden County, where he attended Borden County High School in Gail Texas, graduating with the Class of 1970. After graduating he attended Sul Ross University.

In 1993, Gary's path led him to the town of Comanche, Texas, where he found a welcoming community and new opportunities. Throughout his time in Comanche, Gary worked tirelessly, taking on various roles and leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.

On February 3, 2006, Gary married the love of his life, Becky Cagle Wilkerson in Fredericksburg, Texas. They spent eighteen wonderful years together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, GW "Dude" Wilkerson and Elba "Jean" Wilkerson, and a sister, Sharon Slocumb.

Gary is survived by his wife Becky, and her children, Eric Cagle and his wife Shannon of Stephenville, Nikole Grimmer and her husband Aaron from Stephenville, daughter Amanda Blissard of Big Spring, niece Tracey Jordan of Odessa and niece Jessica Jordan of Odessa. He was blessed with many grandkids: Myka, Aubree, Wade, Weston, Jude, Brody, Alec, Hope, and Heather.
