George Wayne Ellis, age 80, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2013, at his home in Comanche County, Texas surrounded by family. He was born on April 23, 1933, in Mills County, Texas, to Earl E. and Katherine (Hill) Ellis. On April 15, 1965, he was united in marriage to Barbara Harris in Gustine. George was a schoolteacher and coach in the Texas School System and was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of Pearl Street Church of Christ in Comanche. He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Comanche; sons, Earl Ellis and wife Robin of Comanche, and Gary Ellis of Keller; daughter, Kerri Brinkley and husband Chris of Conway, Arkansas; six grandchildren: Ryan, Dakota, Brandi, Cody, Chloe and Aly; and three great-grandchildren: Wooddrow, Strant and Sylee. He was preceded in death by one brother, Joe Don Ellis.
