GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Friday, February 14, 2014, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills, California. (Time of service will be posted when it becomes available). VISITATION: Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home from on Thursday, February 6, 2014, from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. George Walter Reynolds, age 98, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, in Comanche County, Texas. He was born on January 29, 1916, in Brown County, Texas, to Charles Hardy and Cornelia Elizabeth (Medcalf) Reynolds. George graduated from May High School in 1933. After high school, he moved to Eden and on October 2, 1936 was united in marriage to his childhood sweetheart, Cleo Marie Gossett. They resided in Eden until 1941, and then moved to Los Angeles, California. George was a member of the CCC from October 1936 to May, 1927. He left this project in 1937 due to a broken leg. He was employed in the aviation industry during World War II constructing B-25 and P51 aircraft. At the end of the war he joined both the Los Angeles Police Force for two years and Beverly Hills Police Force for eight years. During his service he guarded the homes of celebrities Liz Taylor, Jack Benny, Danny Thomas and many others. After resigning from the police force in 1955, George was employed with Service Air Company overhauling aircraft parts and surplus aircraft parts and manufacturing flexible metal high frequency shielding. He retired in 1981. He had a great love for working in his yard and was an inventor of things useful around his home. Children held a very special place in George’s heart. He was always entertaining them in his home and catering to their many needs. He was deeply loved by all of the lives he touched. He remained in Los Angeles until 2002, when he moved to Comanche for a quieter lifestyle. He is survived by two nieces: June Jones and husband Reese of Banning, California, and Jessie Carroll and husband Charles of Comanche; one great-niece, several great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews as well as one great-great-great-niece, one great-great-great-nephew and many friends who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his wife, son, parents, brother and sister.
