Georgia Matthews

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 2:00 P.M. Monday at Evergreen Cemetery in Comanche County. VISITATION: 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Sunday evening at the funeral home. Georgia M. (Tince) Matthews, age 84, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2011, in Irving. She was born on June 4, 1927, in San Angelo, to Jim and Ola Iris (Stephens) Kuykendall. On June 6, 1945, she was united in marriage to Marcus Gene “Sam” Matthews in Menard, Texas. He preceded her in death on September 17, 1960. Georgia was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a Baptist. She is survived by her son, Joseph Gene Matthews of Brady; two daughters, Lana E. Dorman and husband Richard of Dunn, North Carolina, and Deborah N. Matthews of Gustine; son-in-law, David E. King of Ballinger; grandchildren, Rebecca King, Misty Dorman, Scott Matthews and wife Barbara, Michael Dorman and Jennifer Beasley, Gina Murray and husband Chris, and Sonya Gonzales and husband Alex; great-grandchildren, Seth Gonzales, Logan Murray, Kayla Matthews, and Caden Matthews; brothers, Douglas Simmons and wife Dianne of Menard, and Donnie Simmons and wife, Donna of Eldorado; She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Kuykendal, mother and step-father Ola and Paschal Simmons; and daughter-in-law, Charlotte Matthews.
