FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 9, 2014, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel. BURIAL: Sipe Springs Cemetery in Comanche County. VISITATION: 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Saturday night at the funeral home. LaVonna Rogers, age 83, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2014, in Gorman, Texas. She was born in Grapevine, Texas, to Joseph Newman Nisbett and Eula Zee (Trout) Nisbett. On December 24, 1950, she was united in marriage to Frank Ira Rogers in Grapevine, Texas. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1998. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by five sons: Dean Rogers and wife Sheila of Comanche, David Rogers and wife Elizabeth of Comanche, Norman Rogers and wife Catrina of Comanche, Aaron Rogers of Comanche, and Shawn Rogers of Temple; five daughters: IraLonna Shaver and husband Buzz of Bellview, Illinois, Bonnie McClellan of De Leon, Retha Strickland and husband Dana of Waco, Linda Hanus and husband Mark of San Antonio, and Brenda Brown and husband David of Stephenville; twenty-one grandchildren; Marc, Alyssa, Brian. Amanda, Darren, Marlinna, Allan, Melanie, Rachell, Heather, Noah, Stephanie, Steven, Catherine, Kimberley, Leon, Clayton, Jessica, Cole, Leigh Ann and Zane; thirty-three great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Eula Zee Nisbett, one daughter, Laura Lafran Schifman on February 17, 1990, and one great-grandson, Jarrett Jay Hicks on February 23, 1998, one brother, Doyle Nisbett and one great-granddaughter Rusti Autumn Rogers.
