Gladys Mackey

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at Stag Creek Cemetery. VISITATION: Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday, October 30, 2017. LUNCH: Lunch will be at the family home following the funeral service. Gladys Campbell Mackey, age 81, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2017, in Comanche County, Texas. She was born on September 18, 1936, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Ivy Lee and Nancy (Huffman) Hood. On January 23, 1955, she was united in marriage to Joe Campbell in Fort Worth. Gladys was a great mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a bright, outgoing and hardworking person and she enjoyed playing games of marbles and dominoes. For twenty-two years she was employed as a secretary for Gore Bros., Inc. in Comanche. Gladys was a member of the Christian Church. She is survived by two sons, Lee Campbell and wife Ruby of Comanche and Bobby Campbell and wife Cathy of De Leon; stepson, Mike Mackey and wife Laurie of Mingus; eight grandchildren, Kevin Campbell, Ty Edwards, Bree Edwards, Tamara Bartram, Mandi Cagle, Chalie Carlisle, Buster Carlisle, and Rusty Carlisle; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandy Bendele; two grandchildren, Joseph Lee Campbell and Amber Lee Campbell; parents, Ivy and Nancy Hood; and one sister, Mary Bowling
