Box 152, Gustine, Texas 76455. Grace Olena Moore Adams, age 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 21, 2014, at her home in Gustine, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. Grace was born on January 20, 1920, in Comanche County, in the Board Church Community, to Thomas Virgil Moore and Mamie Foster McCamey Moore. She married Wayne Kenneth Adams on July 12, 1940, in Goldthwaite, Texas. This was also Wayne’s birthday. She started school at the Board Church Community School and went through the 5th grade before entering the 6th grade at the Gustine School. She graduated from Gustine High School in 1938 and attended Howard Payne University. Grace worked alongside Wayne as they put their farm and ranch together. She did most of the paperwork of the business as well as helping out by picking cotton, pecans and many other chores of the place. As Wayne’s cattle buying business expanded she was required to stay in the house near the phone so she could call for truck drivers as he needed them at the sale barns. She was completely devoted to her family as it expanded to include her daughter, Arlene and son, Larry. She sewed dresses for Arlene and helped her compete in beauty pageants and school activities. As Larry began competing in rodeos, she accompanied him to all of the junior rodeos across the State of Texas. She always put the needs of her family first above her own wants and needs and this extended not only to her children, but grandchildren and then great-grandchildren. It is a great testament when a lady has three great-grandchildren named after her. Her love for her family was only second to her love of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was devoted to her church, First Baptist Church of Gustine, where she served for many years as a nursery and Sunday School worker. She also helped with Vacation Bible School each summer. Grace loved playing dominoes with the ladies domino group and going to the senior citizens center on Wednesdays. She is survived by her daughter, Shelba Arlene Denning of Fort Worth, son, Larry Wayne Adams and wife Sheri of Gustine, grandchildren, Melody Denning McCaig and husband Shain of Austin, Dr. Jeremy Wayne Denning and wife Deanna of Dallas, Amber Adams Miller and husband Neil of Gustine and Laramie Wayne Adams of Washington, DC; great-grandchildren, Ella Grace, Mimi Claire and Robert Shain McCaig III, Ava Cristina and Valentina Grace Denning, Bailey Miller, Emma Miller, and Harper Grace Miller who will be born in April; and her loving brother, Thomas Whitt Moore of Fort Worth. She is also survived by two very special caregivers, Helen Covey and Brenda Townsend, whom she loved greatly. She also had two special nurses with CCS Hospice who were so helpful to her and the family, Barbara Sanders and Leslie Green. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband and sisters, Kathryn Robertson, Judine Swann and Anna Ree Stephens.
