GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 6, 2013, at De Leon Cemetery in De Leon, Texas. Gwendolen Amos, age 96, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2013, in Comanche, Texas. She was born on October 15, 1916, in Texas, to Leonard “L.S.” Kennedy and Conan Doyle (Edwards) Kennedy. She was a homemaker and a member of Assembly Of God Church. She is survived by her daughter, Gwendolen Marie Spruill of Comanche; son, Gordon Charles Amos; grandson, Robert Edward Spruill and wife Suetta; granddaughter, Debra Marett; grandson, Jerry Spruill and wife Malinda; granddaughter, Cindy Thomas and husband Doug; grandson, Calvin Spruill and wife Shelly; thirteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Coleman of De Leon; brothers, Alton Kennedy of Big Spring, L.S. Kennedy, Jr. of Comanche, and Jimmy Carl Kennedy of Henrietta, Tx; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Dwayne Spruill; parents, L.S. and Conan Kennedy; and two brothers, Ervin Kennedy and Frank Kennedy.
