GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 29, 2014. VISITATION: Family will receive friends from 8:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon on Monday at the funeral home. Helen Marie Edinburgh, age 85, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2014, in Abilene, Texas. She was born on April 30, 1929, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Robert Dee and Geraldine (Blankenship) Gifford. On June 23, 1946, she was united in marriage to James Roy Edinburgh in Gustine. He preceded her in death on April 4, 2010. Helen loved taking care of people and for twenty years she worked as a registered nurse in California. She and Roy loved to travel and spent many summers sightseeing all over the United States. She was an avid reader and also loved working in her flower beds. Helen was a Baptist. She is survived by three grandchildren, Teresa, Nonnie, and Cindy; nine great-grandchildren, Tyson, Mason, Alek, Emylie, Anthony, Kimberlie, Rainey, Eli, and Willow; and one brother, Robert E. Gifford. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Marie Edinburgh; grandchild, Raven; one sister and two brothers.
