She preceded him in death on November 6, 1975. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Sparkman was employed as a pipeline welder and retired in 1976. After retirement, he enjoyed farming, ranching and raising Simmental cattle for the last thirty years. Herman was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gustine, the Hope Masonic Lodge #481 in Comanche and an avid sports fan. SURVIVORS He is survived by his very special friend, Billie "Ma" Couch of Gustine; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Donna Sparkman of Gustine; son and daughter-in-law, Lonnie Sparkman and Paula Barnhart of Comanche; 10 Grandchildren; 20 Great-Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
