VISITATION: Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. LUNCH: Lunch will be at 350 CR 401 in Comanche County. J. L. Newhouse, 80, of Comanche, Texas, died on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at a hospital in Abilene, Texas. He was born on October 27, 1929, in Honey Grove, Texas, to the late Irene and John L. Newhouse. He graduated from Honey Grove High School and later moved to Comanche. On December 27, 1954, he was united in marriage to Patsy Mae Jones in Comanche County and they had one son, John Michael Newhouse. J. L. was an avid golfer and gave generously to many people in his life. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Newhouse of a local nursing home; his son, John Michael Newhouse and wife Jeannie of Comanche; granddaughter, Lindsey and two great grandchildren, Bailey and Ashlyn of Austin; one brother, Harold Dean Newhouse of Bakersfield, California; three sisters, Betty Wilcoxson of Gage, Oklahoma, Katie Hopson and Husband Richard, of Abilene, and Judy Kennedy and Husband Paul, of Amarillo; and may nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irene and John L. Newhouse; sister, Hazel Conn; brothers, Herschel Newhouse and Melvin Lavon Newhouse; and sister, Mona Kientz.
