Jack Guy Clawson, Sr. was born at home in Comanche, Texas, on April 15, 1942, to Harvey Lee and Edna Maebell Green Clawson. He passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025.
Jack married Betty Charlotte Osborn on October 15, 1960, and together they had five children: Sobrina Stahnke of Comanche, Tereva Clawson of Granbury, Guy Clawson of Comanche, Jarvis Clawson of Azle and Jason Clawson of Lubbock.
He was a member of the Sidney Church of Christ and was baptized there at the age of ten.
Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Betty; both parents, Harvey and Maebell Clawson; his brothers, Donald Clawson and Danney Clawson; three sisters, Dawn Stovall, Yvonne Hale and Barbara Clawson; and one great-granddaughter, Baylee Passmore.
He is survived by one sister, Sandra Trefger of Weatherford, all five of his children, eleven grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
At age 18, Jack went into the Air Force where he learned auto and aircraft mechanics and became a member of the flight mechanics crew at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Over his work career, Mr. Clawson worked at Southern Airways in Mineral Wells, Texas, owned his own service station at multiple locations in Texas, worked for Clemons Motor Company in Comanche, Texas, and Landmark Ford and Leif Johnson Ford in Austin, Texas, where he became a Master Mechanic. After his retirement in 1997, Jack moved to his hometown of Comanche where he enjoyed farming.
