James Eldon Wilson died and graduated to a heavenly kingdom on March 1, 2025, at the age of 93 years. He was born on April 8, 1931 on the family farm house a few miles NE of Comanche. His parents were Berch Alvin Wilson and Lorene Kerley Wilson.
He was married to Camelia Elaine Brown on April 20, 1962, in the first formal wedding at the sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church in Tulia, Texas. They were married for 53 years.
He is survived by his son, Kevin; daughter, Kamille; two granddaughters, Sabrina and Katrina; and four great-grandchildren, Roman, Syrena, Volentine, and Selene.
He was a member of First Baptist Church where he taught youth Sunday School classes for many years and served on numerous church comittees. He served two terms as past president of the original Comanche Lions Club and the Comanche Kiwanis Club. He served on active duty with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant. He retired from public school work after 34 years with the last 22 years being principal at Comanche Elementary School.
