James Wyatt

GRAVESIDE SERVICE:  10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Sipe Springs Cemetery in Comanche County. VISITATION:  6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday night at the funeral home. James Wyatt, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, in Comanche, Texas. He was born on July 23, 1927, in Sipe Springs, Texas, to Willard Richard and Ruby Eleanor (Foster) Wyatt. He was a Machinist Mate Third Class in the United States Navy during World War II and was a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. On September 12, 1952, he was united in marriage to Bobbie Jean Merworth in Eastland, Texas. James worked as supply clerk for Comanche County Telephone for twenty-three years until he retired in 1989. He never met a stranger and loved to talk and tell stories about the past, and he loved bluegrass music. James was a member of Sidney Baptist Church and Heart of Texas Baptist Camp and Convention. He was also a member of Comanche Car Club.  He is survived by his wife, Bobbie (Merworth) Wyatt of Sipe Springs; two daughters, Jeannie Huddleston of Sipe Springs, and Angela Richards and husband Jackie of San Saba; three grandchildren: Dezni Souther and husband David of Fort Hood, Casey Huddleston and wife Tiffani of Cross Plains, and Justin Richards and wife Traci of Brownwood; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Richard and Ruby Eleanor (Foster) Wyatt.
