FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:30 A.M. Saturday, November 11, 2017, at First Baptist Church of Comanche. BURIAL: Oakwood Cemetery MEMORIALS: VISITATION: Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Friday, November 10, 2017, from 5:30 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. LUNCH: Lunch for the family will be at First Baptist Church of Comanche following the funeral services. Janice Fay Davis, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, in Fort Worth, Texas. Jan was born on June 16, 1944, in Dublin, Texas, to Winston and Neoma (Smith) Kee. On March 27, 1964, she was united in marriage to Garry Davis at Baggett Creek Church in Gustine, Texas. Jan was a 1962 graduate of Gustine High School. After her high school graduation, she began working at Texas Instruments in Richardson, Texas. Jan and Garry eventually relocated back to Comanche, and they started D&T Dairy in 1972. Jan graduated from Tarleton State University in 1986 where she received her teaching degree in Elementary Education. She was a long-time teacher for the Comanche Independent School District and a former Adult Leader for the Newburg 4-H Club. Jan was an active member of the Pairs and Spares Sunday School class at the First Baptist Church of Comanche. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Comanche County Retired Teachers’ Association, Red Bonnets of Comanche, the Texas Classroom Teachers Association, and she volunteered at Comanche Cares. Jan was also an active member of the Comanche County Car Club and in 2015 was awarded “Lady Street Rodder of the Year” by the Lone Star Street Rod Association. Jan was devoted to her husband, children, and grandchildren and loved being involved in all of their many activities. She especially enjoyed attending car shows, stock shows, reading, and camping with her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Garry Davis of Comanche; daughter, Deann Latham and husband Buddie of Comanche; son, Dr. Todd Davis and wife Stephanie of Comanche; grandchildren, Jenny Wingate and husband Shane of Breckenridge, Libby Latham, Harrison Davis, and Hannah Davis, all of Comanche; sisters, Sue Levisay and husband Charles Ray of Comanche, and Kay Downing of New Braunfels; sisters-in-law, Willie Fay Kee of Bedford, Bobbie Kee of Burkburnett, and Verdell Davis Krisher of Dallas; numerous nieces and nephews, and a multitude of close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Winston and Neoma Kee; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Vernon and Treva Davis; sister, Merla McDougal; brothers, Alvis Kee and Troy Kee; and, brothers-in-law, Creath Davis, Burt Downing, and Lonnie McDougal. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials be made to the Comanche Elementary School Library; the Comanche Public Library; and Comanche Cares.
