FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS: 10:30 A.M. Saturday, February 27, 2016, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel. BURIAL: White Point Cemetery in Comanche County. Box 96930, Washington DC 20077. Jean Mims Hicks left this world surrounded by her family at Peterson Regional Medial Center in Kerrville, Texas on February 18, 2016 at 72 years of age. Jean is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Dr. Carl and Anita Malone of San Angelo, granddaughter Dianna Malone of Midland, daughter and son-in-law Jeanette and Loyd Fields of Hutto, and granddaughters Alyson, Kayla, and Lauren Fields, son and daughter-in-law Dr. Jon and Andrea Sibert of Kerrville, and granddaughters Brooke and Cameron Sibert, nephew and wife Steven and Lisa Mims of Comanche, niece Sara Mims of Comanche, and her beloved Airedale Terrier, Tootie. She is preceded in death by her husband Ronnie Hicks, brother and sister-in-law Dr. Dan and Katy Mims , and her parents Dr. Roy Mims, Sr. and Sarah L. Mims. Jean was born on February 25, 1943 in La Grange, Georgia to Dr. Roy and Sarah L. (Gloria) Mims. She graduated from Comanche High School in 1961 and from Texas A&M University in 1968 with a degree in physical education. Jean lived in Comanche for many years and worked at Doctor’s Medical Clinic in the front office and then as a special education teacher at Comanche Junior High. During her retirement, Jean also lived in Eastland and then Kerrville. Jean loved to live life to its fullest and loved her family with all her heart. She loved nothing more in this world than spending time with her family and friends, owning good dogs and horses, swinging a club on the golf course, and a good gag gift to make everyone laugh.
