Jean Robertson went to be with our Lord Jesus on November 19, 2018, at CARE Nursing and Rehabilitation in Early, Texas, at the age of one hundred and one years, one month and 19 days.  She had lived at home until six weeks ago. Winifred Jean was born to Will and Irene (Moody) Love on October 1, 1917, on a farm near Lake Eanes in southwest Comanche County.  She was the youngest of five children. With her siblings, Jean would walk two and a half miles each day to attend school in Newburg. She then came to Comanche and lived with her sister and husband so she could go to the eleventh grade (in those days, the final year of high school).  After graduation, she went back to the farm to take care of her ailing mother. Jean met A.E. “Buster” Robertson, who worked on a dairy, and they fell in love on the first date. They were married on March 27, 1937, in Comanche.  They lived with her parents on the farm.  Later, they moved to Comanche, where Buster made a career doing upholstery and auto body work.  Jean taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Church for many years.  She worked as a retail sales clerk until she retired at age seventy-five. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Irene Love; husband, Buster Robertson; brother, Pete Love; sisters, Hattie Wright, Ethel Johnson, and Aubie Stark; daughter, Jan Petty; and grandson, Samuel David Petty. Jean is survived by her daughter, Judy Fergurson and husband Jerry Don of Pinehurst, North Carolina; granddaughter, Jodie Fondrie of Pinehurst, North Carolina; grandson, Paul David Petty and wife Lilia of Saginaw, Texas; great-grandsons, Will Fondrie and wife Nicole of Seattle, Washington, Jon Fondrie and wife Paige of Kannapolis, North Carolina, and Ryan Samuel Petty of Grand Prairie, Texas; great-great-granddaughter, Leslie Fondrie of Seattle, Washington; several nieces and nephews; David and Kathy Petty (like a son and daughter); and many, many friends.
