FUNERAL SERVICES: 1:30 P.M. Sunday, February 11, 2018, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel. BURIAL: Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Comanche County. VISITATION: Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home on Saturday, February 10, 2018, from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. LUNCH: Lunch for the family will be at First Baptist Church of Comanche, at 12:00 Noon on Sunday. MEMORIALS: If desired, family requests memorials be made to Solaris Hospice, 413 Center Avenue, Brownwood, Texas 76801. Jerry Duck Summers, age 74, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018, in Comanche County, Texas. He was born on July 12, 1943, in Gorman, Texas, to James K. and Ida Merle (Glasgow) Summers. On April 19, 1968, he was united in marriage to Patricia Himes in Coryell County, Texas. Jerry was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a talented craftsman and worked as a Construction Superintendant for McDevitt Street & Bovis Construction in Nashville, Tennessee until he retired. He moved back to Comanche County, where he built a new home. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Gorman. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Summers of Comanche County; sons, Clayton Summers and wife Glenna of Bangs and Montie Bland and wife Stephanie of China Springs; daughter, Jenifer Turner of Gatesville; grandchildren, Falon Summers, Cory Summers, David Ellis, Whitney and Mike Lindquist, Courtney Bland, Caleb Bland, Joshua Bland, and Beth Turner; and brother, Bill Summers and wife Peggy of Copperas Cove.
