Jill Hodges

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 10:30 A.M. Saturday, April 1, 2017, at First United Methodist Church, 217 East Grand Avenue, Comanche. Jill Denise Hodges, age 58, passed away March 26, 2017, in Comanche, Texas. Born December 16, 1958, she was united in marriage to R. Michael Hodges on November 28, 1980, in Tempe, Arizona, where she was raised. She began her studies at Arizona State University and later graduated in 1980 with a degree in physical therapy from Texas Woman’s University. While at TWU, Jill was a member of the Texas State Guard. For many years, she and her husband owned and operated a contract physical therapy business in Central Texas before she became a dedicated physical therapist for special needs children in the Comanche County Small Schools Coop, serving several rural schools. Jill was an accomplished musician specializing in organ and piano and frequently played for services in area churches. She, along with her husband, also played for several years in a jazz ensemble with Howard Payne University faculty members, performing many venues in Texas. A dedicated wife and mother, she also actively participated in the family cattle operation and, in her spare time, enjoyed gardening. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, R. Michael Hodges, children Erin Hodges Caywood and husband Stephen, Sara Hodges and Jake Hodges, her mother Betty Hiett, sister Cinthia Hiett and husband Michael Norman, brother Kelly Hiett and wife Kristina, brother Neal Hiett and wife Kelly, sister-in-law Cheryl Fulton and husband Kenneth, and mother-in-law Charlene Hodges, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Duane Hiett, father-in-law Roy Norman Hodges, and mother-in-law Maxine Hodges.
