He is survived by his three daughters, Linda, Carol, and Mavis; his grandchildren, Paul, Danny, Adam, Kimberly, Stephan, Andrew, Stewart, and Annalisa; and his great grandchildren, Tajah, Finley, Bodhi, Daniel, and one great grandchild in utero. Jimmie was also preceded in death by his mother Estella Mae Tyler Warren Gaines Rogers, his fathers Marion Gaines, and Rev. Robert Hershel “Pop” Rogers, and his siblings, J. R., Pauline, Buddie, Irene, James and Marjorie Warren. Those fortunate to know him also knew him as Jimmie Leon Leo Angelina Googleberg Whizzle Pizzle Warren Jr., but you can call him Jimmie. He was a sweet, gentle soul, as tender as our hearts, as strong as onions, and as pure as the driven snow. He lived a life to be proud of, spreading the Gospel through his words, acts of kindness, humor, and song. He was a member of the Kendrick’s Quartet, and various other Gospel groups throughout his life. He directed music at every church he was a member of, and was a founding member of Gateway Baptist Church in Comanche, Texas. In his profession, he managed A&P Grocery, and served two terms as mayor of Comanche, yet never ran for office. He was loved by many. We will miss him, but we carry him with us, and we still raise our right hands and repeat after him, that we do solemnly swear, without uttering or stuttering one unsound word, on any given Sunday, that we truly know, beyond the twinkling shadow of a doubt, what is going on.
