Joe De Anda

August 23, 1941 — October 5, 2022

Joe De Anda, age 81, of Comanche, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday October 5, 2022.

Joe was born on August 23, 1941, in Brownwood, Texas, to Julio and Juanita De Anda. On July 23, 1978, he was united in marriage to Geraldine Hughes in Comanche, Texas.

Joe was the epitome of a Christian man. He was a devoted and loving husband to his “Sweetie” for 44 years. Nothing made him more proud than to watch his children and grandchildren grow in the way of the Lord. “Mamaw and Papaw’s” house was always open for food, fellowship, and family - whether you were kin or not. During his working years, Joe was dedicated to the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad, where he carried many positions and made every environment better. At retirement, Joe loved to stay busy by tending to yards, volunteering for the Comanche Hospital, staying active in his church, and lending a helping hand to all who were in need. Throughout his lifetime, Joe left an impact on many that will last an eternity.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine De Anda of Comanche; son Carlos De Anda and wife Esther of Granbury; daughter, Juanita Lopez and husband Rufus Jr of Granbury; daughter, Veronica De Anda of Cleburne; numerous nieces and nephews; a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many, many other close family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Julio and Juanita De Anda; in-laws, Burton and Audene Hughes; sons, Clay Scott and Brad Scott; brother, Johnny De Anda; and grandson, Rufus Lopez 3.
