Joel Murphy

Joel Clifford Murphy passed away on September 2, 2023, in Comanche, Texas. He was born on November 28, 1936, in Ben Wheeler, Texas to Lance and Gladys Gray Murphy. He was united in marriage to Margie Sue Hill on March 24, 1960. They were married for 61 years. Joel served in the US Army for 2 years as an electrical repairman. He came back to his job with Texas Electric where he worked until 1995 and retired. He became a ham radio operator for Texas Electric. When he retired, he continued operating ham radios up to the last year when his cancer kept him from doing so. He loved talking to people around the world.
Joel was a blessing to many people. He was a member of the Gustine Baptist Church.
Joel loved sports. He enjoyed going to ball games. He never missed a Dallas Cowboys game on the Television.
Joel is survived by his son Robert Murphy and wife, Staci, and grandchildren Ryan and Morgan Murphy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Murphy and son, Russell Murphy.
